TPS SWITCH, BRACKET, ROD, & LEVER

KIT P/N 1951

MOUNTING THE TPS:

1. Mount the TPS assembly to the throttle body as shown in Figure 2 with the two socket head cap screws provided.

2. Install the retainer clip to secure the connector rod to the bracket as shown (Fig. 1).

3. Insert the connector rod into the TPS assembly and mount the bracket to the throttle lever as shown (Fig. 2) with the 1/4”-28

bolts, washers, and nuts provided.

4. Use the wiring diagram provided for adjustment procedure (Fig. 3).

NOTE: If utilizing the GM throttle extension lever (Kit # 1952), the throttle lever bracket supplied with TPS kit will not be used (Fig. 1).

The connector rod will install directly to the GM throttle extension lever (Fig. 4).

ADJUSTING THE TPS:

1. Unplug the 3 pin connector from the TPS. Attach jumper wires (not provided) between the TPS and the connector, as shown

in Figure 3.

2. Attach the positive (+) lead of a digital voltmeter to the jumper wire connected to the “A” wire.

3. Attach the negative (-) lead of a digital voltmeter to the jumper wire connected to the “B” wire.

4. Turn the ignition key to the “RUN” position. Do not start the engine.

5. Rotate the adjustment screw accordingly to obtain proper voltage readings. Refer to a shop manual or aftermarket

transmission controller manual for proper voltage settings.

6. Turn the ignition key to the “OFF” position.

7. Remove the jumper wires and plug the 3 pin connector back into the TPS, ensuring that the safety latch snaps into place.
